Well its that time of the year again, as we warm up for what’s left of Spring Racing in Australia. Saturday’s Turnbull Stakes being the quality race of the day, there is really only one selection here.
Zipping looks the excellent value in the Turnbull Stakes, has the class and the guts to beat this lot, El Segundo, Marasco, and all. This 6 year old gelding, with excellent breeding DANEHILL(USA) – SOCIAL SCENE(IRE) has shown some real gutsy runs these conditions – ran 4th in the Melbourne Cup 2006, and won the 2006 Moonee Valley Cup.
Zipping has had one run back after a spell – ran on well for 3rd to Marasco and Apache Cat in the Makybe Diva Stakes 1600m on September 8. Has a lot more to offer over 2000m and will prove invincible on a DEAD track.
If the Flemington track surface ends up rated GOOD, he may get beat, and just place, but a DEAD track will be another story.
