Freedman to face stewards at inquiry over Our Smoking Joe

Our Smoking Joe trainer Lee Freedman will face stewards at an inquiry after being questioned Saturday, over whether Our Smoking Joe had suffered a setback last week in the lead up to the Craiglee Stakes, and if so, why he did not report it to stewards.

Stewards were informed by an “outside source” after the Craiglee that all had not been well with the six-year-old during the week.
Rule Of Racing 140(a) stipulates a trainer who brings a horse to the races must inform stewards of any condition or occurrence that might affect the running of the horse.

It appears Our Smoking Joe had a problem with his shoulder, that was not revealed before the race?
