The Moonee Valley Cox Plate, Saturday’s feature race looks a foregone conclusion, with hot favourite SO YOU THINK ready to show all comers what racing is about. Absolutely donkey-licking the field in the Yalumba Stakes 2000m at Caulfield on October 9 (won by over 3 lengths, and pulling away), SO YOU THINK defends the race he won last year at just his fifth start – and should do this lot easily.

The 2010 Cox Plate field is full of runners showing excellent stats coming into this, and surprises may come from the half of the field that haven’t run this course or distance yet. But, barring any unforeseen accidents (that’s racing), SO YOU THINK, the son of High Chaparral will win the Cox Plate again, and on only his tenth run! Currently paying around $1.45 for the win bet – I never bet on anything that short, as anything can happen during a race – you would need to get 3 out of 4 winners (75% strike rate) at those odds just to make a 35 cents profit (staking a total of $4, to return $4.35). For my friends that gotta have a tip for Saturday, my best tip is in the Crystal Mile 1600m.
