Turnbull Stakes 4YO+ 2000m

Another runner worthy of a bet is Pompeii Ruler. This horse has proven time and again in these conditions, is running at his peak of fitness, and has won 3 from 3 races at Flemington. Pompeii Ruler could embarass this lot if he runs to his best form, very hard to beat. Weekend Hussler the odds on favourite, starts from a wide barrier, has yet to run this distance, but was staying just in front of Pompeii Ruler last start, in the Caulfield Underwood Stakes 1800m. I’ve a feeling the last 200m of this race may tell another story. Other chances Zarita($26W), Efficient($35W), and Zipping($61W) all represent excellent value, and all have a decent chance at upsetting favourite backers in the Turnbull Stakes.

Zipping looks the excellent value in the Turnbull Stakes, has the class and the guts to beat this lot, El Segundo, Marasco, and all. This 6 year old gelding, with excellent breeding DANEHILL(USA) – SOCIAL SCENE(IRE) has shown some real gutsy runs these conditions – ran 4th in the Melbourne Cup 2006, and won the 2006 Moonee Valley Cup.

Zipping has had one run back after a spell – ran on well for 3rd to Marasco and Apache Cat in the Makybe Diva Stakes 1600m on September 8. Has a lot more to offer over 2000m and will prove invincible on a DEAD track.
If the Flemington track surface ends up rated GOOD, he may get beat, and just place, but a DEAD track will be another story.

This 7 year old gelding by Flying Spur, is down in weight, ridden by top performing jockey S Scriven, and comes from barrier 1. Recent rides were from wide barriers, and he still got across to run at the front every race.

Has put in consistently good times, and will probably get straight out to the front and lead all the way. Challenges may come from Starlactic and Impaler, and look for the late lunge by Hard to Catch.

The movement of the Saliu Filters point to a drop in the ANY 6, soon. This means all 6 numbers will be derived from only a few recent draws, 4-7 draws! This gives quite an advantage over odds as the possible field of played numbers could be 20 or less.

With a little luck, all numbers could also swing back to SMALL, all under 33, which could reduce the possible numbers down to 10-15 numbers, quite a leverage over lady luck!!
