In New South Wales, Australia, there are 3 Lotto draws per week. On Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, the 6 main and 2 supplementary balls are drawn from the same barrel, and are therefore treated as one continuous field, with the main 6 being the ultimate - From 15 April 2004, all 3 weekly draws can be treated as ONE number field - see Lotto Draw Changes. This section will reveal tips and tricks, based on mathematics, including hot numbers for Lotto NSW, or Australian Powerball.

Advanced statistical analysis shows that some numbers, or combinations of numbers show a greater frequency of occurence than “normal” and as such may constitute a “run”. What is known as a horse’s breeding, is simply the genetic stock or line it is descended from. This information usually appears on form guides directly beneath or alongside the name of the horse.

How can breeding help us to win?
It is common knowledge these days, that genetics dictates form and function in a living organism, and that many of these genetic factors are passed on to progeny. As characteristics are usually passed on down the line, then it makes sense to look at the parents, to see the potential of the offspring. That is exactly how a knowledge of breeding can help us to win.

Performance factors tracked through breeding are things like:

• Distance Ranges - certain distances or distance ranges the breed excels at
• Track Conditions - certain breeds may perform poorly on a wet track, while others excel
• Consistency - some breeds produce consistent runners, while others produce freaks that amaze occasionally
• Personality Traits - can dictate how the horse may run in a race - is it timid, bold, big-hearted, loves to win, etc. Yes horses have personality too

The fact that a horse has good breeding for the race, is no guarantee of performance, but is used as a guideline. In some cases breeding may be the most important factor to be considered. Once a horse has performed adequately according to its breeding, we can assume it will run true to it in future unless proven otherwise.

• Time: Time the race will be run (EST,Australia)
• Code: TAB NSW Code for the race
• Track: Track where the race is run
• Cond: condition of track - Fast,Good,Dead,Slow,Heavy
• Dist: Distance of race in metres
• Number: Number of the horse
• Horse: Name of the horse
• GV: G Value is an estimate of “good value”, being a horse’s chance in the race, expressed as dollars the WIN. The Place odds should be ~20-25% of GV. If a horse is paying greater than GV it is a good value bet.
• Posn: Resulting position: 1,2,3,4,etc.
• Tote: Which Tote (or TAB) is quoted on for the $Win and $Place.
• $Win: $Win amount on Tote.
• $Plc: $Place amount on Tote.
• Invest-w-p: Units invested on the selection, win and place, shown as -(minus) indicating expense/loss for totalling purposes. Example: -1-5 means 1unit to WIN, 5units to PLACE.
• Return: Unit/s returned on investment, shown as +(plus) indicating Return for totalling purposes.
